‘Meet the Birds’ is a daily event at Muncaster Castle, between March and November and is the main highlight for most visitors.
At 2:30pm every afternoon several of The Owl Centre’s birds are brought onto the front lawn of the Castle where a talk and a demonstration is given. This is your opportunity to see the birds at close quarters and to take that special photograph. Some birds are flown free (weather permitting). It must be stressed that this is not a ‘falconry display’. All of the birds are flown to show their natural behaviour and are permanent residents at the centre.
Following the demonstration, visitors are invited onto the lawn to ‘Meet the Birds’ and the handlers to ask questions and take photographs. If the weather is unsuitable visitors can still ‘Meet the Birds’ in the Castle’s main courtyard.
