Sponsored Walk 2010

First of all I would like to thank everybody who has supported us on our last sponsored walk which was ‘Blencathra via Sharp Edge’. Support as always, has been very generous. The full account thereof will be in our next newsletter due out shortly.

I first came up with the idea of doing sponsored fellwalking back in 2003 and the response has been brilliant. Consequently the next sponsored walk endeavour will be; ‘Pillar Plus’. This involves ascending ‘Pillar’ from Wasdale Head via ‘Blacksail Pass’, then going over into the Ennerdale side and doing the ‘High Level Traverse’ up the north face of Pillar. The route will again be circular, and from Pillar will take in both ‘Steeple’ and ‘Red Pike’. The route will be approximately 10 miles in length and will involve around 3500 feet of ascent.........
