Sponsored Walk 2010

I am pleased to announce that we have successfully completed our latest sponsored walk challenge, namely ‘Pillar Plus’, or to give it it’s more traditional title i.e. Pillar via the high level traverse and the Mosedale Horse Shoe. The full report will follow in due course. The funds raised so far enable us to begin re-equipping the office with up to date computers, most of which have now been purchased, and which should begin their initial operational life by the middle of July. By the middle of August we hope to have them networked and operating at full capacity. The support we have received so far has surpassed all expectations, however should you still wish to sponsor the event, you are more than welcome.

When the computers are up and running, we will take some pictures and put them on the website.

Wednesday the 14th of July 2010.

As I am writing this, Peter Hands, one of our trustees is busy installing new ‘state of the art’ computers in the office. I believe it will take a couple of days to get them functioning correctly, and, (so I’m told), until the middle of August to get them fully ‘networked’. I think I know what that means.

These new computers couldn’t have come at a better time, as one by one, the old ones have been packing up. Yesterday Barbara’s computer needed a lot of T.L.C. to keep going, and Jen’s today has ‘refused’ to send and receive emails. It’s almost as if they knew they were being replaced!

This should mean that ‘due process’ in the office should be much smoother from now on, and should alleviate the pressure on the ‘admin’ side of things.
