Wednesday August 4th 2010
I said I wasn’t going to do another blog until the end of August. Well, this is going to be a ‘mini blog’, in that I want to support and raise the profile of one of the latest fundraising efforts on behalf of the Trust. Our volunteer Debs Smith from Nottingham, who, together with her husband Roy very ably assisted both Andy and myself at ‘Patchings Craft Fair’ a few months ago, is going to do a sponsored skydive for the World Owl Trust. Debs is a very brave Lady, who is basically prepared to freefall from 14000 feet, hitting terminal velocity along the way, just to raise some money for the Trust. I believe this deserves some recognition. If any of you wish to sponsor this event, please send your donations to the World Owl Trust, marked ‘Debs Smith, sponsored skydive’, or by going to www.justgiving.com/debs-smith. The event should be taking place at around mid to late October 2010. I wish her lots of support in her efforts. Her husband Roy is having the event filmed. I will leave you with a picture of Debs with Sparky, taken at Patchings.
