We’ve started doing some of the off season jobs. I have been cleaning nest boxes out in the Breeding Ground. This is of interest to the local Robin population, as it exposes what is potentially next year’s Hippoboscids to the open air in the form of larvae nesting in dirty nest lining. This is an unexpected bonanza for these birds.

There is not much else to say this week except that we had a sponsor who came in today, who donated £300 - towards a new aviary in the Main Display. I will leave you with a picture of David Armitage receiving the said cheque from sponsor Stephen Oldfield at the proposed site for the new aviary.
