Saturday, New Year’s Eve, 31st of December 2011
The last blog of the year. It’s been very quiet again this week. Not a bad thing I suppose. There is one news worthy event however; The Ashy-faced Owls in the Main Display have laid an egg. They have recently been given a new nest box. I don’t think they were too impressed, as they decided to sit outside in all weathers. I think what changed their mind was fact that their light bulb went out. They then promptly went inside and started to use it as a roost. Everyone’s a critic! Now they have rewarded us with an egg. Without waxing too lyrical, this egg is almost symbolic of the promise that each New Year brings; this egg almost represents the birth of the new which will inevitably replace the old. This is the cycle, as old as time itself.
Happy New Year to you all.
